What stood out for me at The Rock Academy was our very first interview with the school. The care they took to assess my daughter, after the pandemic, and their honesty about my child and her level of education that she was on, was amazing. They gave us the choice to keep her at the same standard or move her on to the next standard. They also explained all the pros and cons for both decisions which lead us to make the best decision for my child.Their communication with parents is very good. We really enjoy the weekly newsletter, which keeps us up to date on all school activities. I am also very impressed with the way that the teachers at The Rock Academy conduct their lessons. They take care in trying to connect with each child individually and on their own level. They also make the lessons fun for the kids, as my daughter always comments on the fun they had during the day.Liesl Stadler

What a privilege to send all 3 of my girls to this wonderful school! The Rock Academy is a school of high standards and Christian values. The teachers are loving, supportive and passionate about teaching and the character development of the children. The classes are small with a maximum of 12 children in a class. There is a strong sense of togetherness and inclusion, and we have loved being part of The Rock Academy family.

We have been unbelievably blessed to have found this school. Academically, it has covered all that we hoped for, but the blessing has come from the pervading air of respect and caring that is all encompassing. I started at The Rock Academy when I was 6 years old. I left when I was 7 to go to Sunvalley Primary. I then left Sunvalley because I felt uncomfortable and did not fit in, and came back to the Rock Academy when I was 8. I have loved being here ever since, because my teachers at the Rock have supported me throughout my school years.Three things I have loved about my school are:. I really enjoy the atmosphere in the school; I enjoy the subjects and sports at the school because they have helped me grow as a person and my friendships made at school will always be a wonderful memory. From the moment we walked into The Rock Academy, on my daughter’s first day of Grade 1, she was greeted by the Principal with a smile and a reassuring cuddle. My daughter suffers from separation anxiety and Mrs. Oelofse, the principal, was so warm and compassionate on that first day, putting my husband and myself at ease.Her teacher, Mrs.Mc Dougall, has been so caring, patient and encouraging to my husband, my daughter and myself as we navigated her separation anxiety this year.The environment at The Rock Academy is open and welcoming. Teachers strike an effective balance between fun and a firm hand. Every staff member in the school is dedicated and caring. I love the focus on character development ,and nurturing children in a way that makes them grow into who they were made to be. Our daughter loves to come home and tell us about what she did in school. She is thriving academically too. She is happy that the classes are small. Her ability to care for others, her willingness to serve and her confidence in who she is, is increasing day by day. I started at my school when i was 12 years old. My teachers are helpful, kind and always happy. I love all the friends that I’ve made – I’ve made a lot of great friends.. I have enjoyed all the outings we’ve been on, and all the projects we’ve done. The classes are nice and small, and there are some really nice people in the school. I was always scared about going to school, but since coming to The Rock Academy, I’m always excited to come to school. I love doing projects. I have learned to always love myself, and that God will always love me.

I started at The Rock Academy when I was 6 years old. My special school friendships started in Grade 1 with Dustin, Grace, Chelsea and Gabby. My teachers have always been very nice to me. When I think of my school through the years, the words exciting, engaging and amazing come to mind. Three of my favourite school subjects are Maths, ICT and PE.Some of the things I have loved about The Rock Academy are the annual camp for Grades 4-7, prize-giving which signified the end of the school year, and I have also loved our school outings. My school gives a good education because it has a small teacher-student ratio. The time here has helped shape my character in the following way: it has deepened my faith.The main thing my school has taught me is to never give up and to always do my best.
