    Daughter in Grade 5, 2022

The Rock Academy has a special place in my heart, because it is so much more than a school; it’s more like a big family where each child is a valued member, and where learning goes beyond the realm of education. Thank you for all you do!

    Grade 7, 2022

I started at my school when I was 6 in Grade 1. My teachers have been very nice to me over the years. Three things I have loved about my school are: the fantastic friendships I’ve made; the kind teachers and the lovely people I have met; .The friendships I’ve made will be life long friendships. The three words that come to me when I think of my school are: fun, eventful, and fantastic
My school gives a very good education because the teachers help you when you don’t understand. My school has helped me shape my character by making me more humorous!  My best school work memory this year is The Baby Project. The main thing school has taught me is to not to be lazy!

    Grade 7, 2022

I started at The Rock Academy when I was 6 years old. My special school friendships started in Grade 1 with Dustin, Grace, Chelsea and Gabby. My teachers have always been very nice to me. When I think of my school through the years, the words exciting, engaging and amazing come to mind. Three of my favourite school subjects are Maths, ICT and PE.
Some of the things I have loved about The Rock Academy are the annual camp for Grades 4-7, prize-giving which signified the end of the school year, and I have also loved our school outings. My school gives a good education because it has a small teacher-student ratio. The time here has helped shape my character in the following way:  it has deepened my faith.
The main thing my school has taught me is to never give up and to always do my best.

We have been unbelievably blessed to have found this school. Academically, it has covered all that we hoped for, but the blessing has come from the pervading air of respect and caring that is all encompassing. Each and every teacher has made our child feel seen and heard, but, most especially, loved. In terms of his sense of worth and self esteem, it isn’t possible to put a value on this experience.

    Student, 2022

I started at my school when I was 9 years old in 2018. The school is in a convenient place as it’s near my house and near my friends.. My teachers were amazing and have helped me grow as a person. My school has helped shape my character In the following ways:
    • The schools helped with my confidence in being a leader; and asking for help.
    • My school gives a very good education because it helps with individual learning.
Three things I have loved about my school are, I loved the sports and crafts, but most importantly the school camp. The friendships made at my school I hope to keep forever and ever!
Three of my best school memories are: Dustin’s homemade lip surgery; going into a dungeon on an outing, and my class’s interesting edition to the English dictionary!
The main thing my school has taught me is helping others and nurturing amazing friendships.

    Daughter in Grade 6, 2022

What stood out for me at The Rock Academy was our very first interview with the school. The care they took to assess my daughter, after the pandemic, and their honesty about my child and her level of education that she was on, was amazing. They gave us the choice to keep her at the same standard or move her on to the next standard. They also explained all the pros and cons for both decisions which lead us to make the best decision for my child.
Their communication with parents is very good. We really enjoy the weekly newsletter, which keeps us up to date on all school activities. I am also very impressed with the way that the teachers at The Rock Academy conduct their lessons. They take care in trying to connect with each child individually and on their own level. They also make the lessons fun for the kids, as my daughter always comments on the fun they had during the day.

    Grade 7, 2022

I started at my school when I was 6 years old in 2016. My teachers helped me to enjoy school and helped to develop my love for language and learning. Three things I have loved about my school are: The close knit community which enabled me to feel safe and recognised, the lovely and unique environment and the God- centered friendships made at my school that have been extremely fulfilling and and have helped to shape me into the person I am today.

My school gives pupils a good education because the small classes which enable the teachers to give each student the help they need.
My school has helped to shape my character by providing me with all the resources to make good decisions, helping me to be more open to guidance and by giving me leadership experience which may help me later in life.
Three adjectives to describe my school: accepting, fun, educational.
Three of my best schoolwork memories are:
    • When Hayden kicked a ball against the glass doors and it bounced back, hit him in the head and knocked him over!
    • When Dustin attempted to give himself DIY lip fillers!
    • When Thomas pulled one of Rueben’s braids out and fed him biltong (Rueben was vegetarian), then proceeded to tie his socks around Rueben’s mouth!
The main thing my school has taught me is to be independent and to work hard for anything I want to achieve in life, and to honour friendship and relationships highly.

What a privilege to send all 3 of my girls to this wonderful school! The Rock Academy is a school of high standards and Christian values. The teachers are loving, supportive and passionate about teaching and the character development of the children. The classes are small with a maximum of 12 children in a class. There is a strong sense of togetherness and inclusion, and we have loved being part of The Rock Academy family.

    Son in Grade 6, 2022

The Rock Academy is not just a school, it’s a family. My eldest son has been there since Grade 1 and is now in Grade 6,my youngest starts his journey with The Rock Academy next year. The teachers at The Rock Academy take pride in their jobs, and truly care about the children. Mrs Oelofse the principal is such a loving, caring person  that goes the extra mile for the students. The Rock Academy has helped me out in my darkest times, when I thought there was nowhere to turn, and I am eternally grateful to them.

When we were searching for a school for our daughter 2 years ago. We were looking for something more family oriented and not big classrooms. And the rock academy was the perfect option and still is. Our daughter and every kid has extra attention because there is only 12 kids per class and she is super motivated and encourage to succeed in every topic. She has changed her approach to so many things, she is super excited to be in school. If you are looking for a place where you kids will succeed academically, morally and spiritually the Rock Academy is the school for your family!

  • Vivienne Moll

    Grandson in Grade 2, 2022

I am a grandmother who takes care of a young grandson whose mother has passed away. We are very grateful to The Rock Academy for helping us with his education. He is thriving and very happy at the school. The teachers have been wonderful and caring. What we appreciate is the direct contact with the teachers. The classes are smal, no more than 12 children per class. There is no bullying and the children are taught to be kind and polite. I was a Foundation Phase teacher once, and I am very supportive of the content the children are being taught. When I told my grandson I was going to write about his school, his reply was, “ I love my school”.
